HVAC Repair Service: Identified improper electrical grounding in the outdoor condenser unit, which posed a safety risk. Corrected the grounding connections and tested the system to ensure safe and consistent operation.

Arrived onsite for no cooling service call on second floor system. Performed diagnostic. System is 3 years old. Found fault in heat transfer media. Used electronic leak detector and detected leak. Also observed water the emergency pan. Observed water in the blower fan compartment. Did not find a clog in the condensate line. Did. It see a crack drain pan in the evaporator coil.

Customer love me to the air handler that's in the basement , change the filter . Customer led me around back to where the condenser is, which is on the right side of the backyard. Pulled the disconnect to cut off the power to the unit popped off the hood and scooped out every dirt leaves and anything else I was inside the condensation. Wash down the machine from the inside out with chemical and water, used the customer's hose. Turned on the thermostat that's on the first floor to Cooling to Check pressures pressures, pressures were okay it was about 60° outside. Check for temperature split inside the house and it peaked at 15°.

Customer led me to unit downstairs in the basement, change the filter on that unit unit seems fine. Customer told me that the condenser was one on the right side of the house by in the back. Turned off all thermostats except for the downstairs Air Handlers thermostat to confirm the correct condenser, that was the right condenser. Unplug the fuse for the condenser, Popped off the top of the condenser and cleaned it inside out pop the condenser on reconnected the disconnect went inside check the temperature difference with temperature probes. Temperature split peaked at 23°.

we need to run a shielded cable out of the right side cable end of the house, we need to tuck it in behind the existing leader pipe dropping down. we then need to put PVC conduit across the bottom of the house and under the deck, we then need to dig a small trench under the dirt walkway between the edge of the deck and the fence that blocks the equipment. we can then come up and either staple the wire to the back side of the fence and to the condenser, or we can continue running conduit over. it appears as both condensers are tied to the one wire coming down to the non-functioning condenser, the 24 volt signal from the furnace in the attic may be feeding both condensers.

Arrived onsite to continue trouble shooting the system not properly communicating. As per the manufacturer’s troubleshooting instruction. Brought the communicating interface thermostat to the outside unit. Connected the wires to the thermostat. The thermostat could not find the inside unit. It has been determined that the thermostat can find the inside unit from inside. It cannot find the outside unit from inside and it cannot find the inside unit from outside. Based on the manufacturer’s guidance, It has been determined that the communicating wire will need to be replaced with a shielded communicating wire. This wire runs under the decking and is partially buried. May recommend adding wire protecting conduit.

Arrived onsite for communication error message on Carrier communicating thermostat. Performed diagnostic. Found all equipment functional. Did not observe any burnt or loose wiring. Contacted manufacturer support. Continued diagnosing and found outside wiring or system is causing error message. This could be bad wiring in the ground or could be a bad circuit board outside. J is always Very clear about his assessment and very patient in explaining what the situation is. I also appreciate it since he’s been to the house before we have gotten the same service tech. I understand we may be in store for another new unit but we’re going to hold off for now. We’re just hoping that it lasts us through the winter for now, and we will deal with this in the spring. Only wish is that someone would call me if you guys are going to be a couple of hours late! Brendan(?) sorry may have name wrong, who shadowed today was very sweet and ambitious.
